Project Description

The barque Roseau was built in Jersey by F.C. Clarke in 1857 principally engaged in the sugar trade between England and the West Indies. She was broken up in 1897 and the original figure now stands at De Bradley wharf in Dover. I was commissioned by the museum in Jersey to carve a replica. By taking drawings and measurements from the origianal, a replica was carved for the Jersey Heritage Trust and is now exhibited at their museum in St. Helier.

This figurehead was commissioned by the Jersey Heritage Trust. please contact me if you would like more information on carving something similar
