Project Description

Gratia was built by Camper and Nichoson in 1900 as Bertha. The trailboards were carved directly into her stem. The stem of the yacht was severely damaged following a collision with a fishing vessel.  A new stem  was fitted to the yacht, and a stemhead prepared for carving, using fragments of the original as a template. This was then fitted to the yacht and working from a dinghy alongside, I completed the carving onto the stem.
