Figurehead based on a little French figure from the 1860’s. To create a figure that appeared to be antique, a block of wood that had already aged was chosen. This solid block of redwood pine had cracks and signs of its age. Once carved the figure was painted and further distressed to bring its appearance close to the original.
The figure has since sold, to carve something similar would cost in the region of £3,000
