The barque Rosearu was built in Jersey by F.C. Clarke in 1857 principally engaged in the sugar trade between England and the West Indies. She was broken up in 1897 and the original figure now stands at De Bradley wharf in Dover. By taking drawings and measurements from this, a replica was carved for the Jersey Heritage Trust to be exhibited at their museum in St. Helier.
