| La Fayette's ship L'Hermione A replica of this famous French frigate of 1780 has been under construction at the historic dock of Rochefort for some years. Having completed some research into the style of figurehead that the original ship would have carried, I was awarded the commission to carve the lion figurehead for the project, and commenced carving in May 2011. The figurehead is now on the ship, which was launched on the 6th of July 2012. |
