Götheborg is a replica of a Swedish East India Company ship (SOIC) originally built in 1738

Since 1999 I have held the post of ships carver to the SOIC, initially carrying out research to design the decorative work and then to carve the designs.

The 4.5m high lion figurehead is now complete. Note mallet by left "ear" which gives some idea of the size.
