Roseau

Commissioned by the Jersey Heritate Trust in 2002 for thier museum in St Helier.

She was carved by me in yellow pine, and is a replica of a figure that originally adorned the bow of the barque Roseau, built by F.C. Clarke at Jersey in 1857.

She was principally engaged in the sugar cane trade between England and the West Indies and finally broken up in England in 1897.
